After a setback, the way forward is not to rush back to where you were. It is to notice what has changed, choose the right starting point, and rebuild confidence one sensible step at a time.

Progress is not always a straight line.

There will be wobbles.

There will be setbacks.

There will be illness, or tiredness, or pain, or heat, or loss of confidence, or a fall, or simply a period when normal activity has slipped.

That does not mean all progress is lost.

It means the body may need a thoughtful way back.

The aim is not to rush back to where you were.

The aim is to notice where you are now,

choose the right starting point,

and rebuild from there.

That might mean:

  • using more support

  • reducing repetitions

  • choosing a familiar movement

  • slowing the pace down

  • taking more rests

  • returning to a smaller version

  • observing how the body responds

  • building confidence one step at a time

This is not going backwards.

It is intelligent rebuilding.

Because confidence is not built by pretending nothing has changed.

Confidence is built by knowing what to do when something has changed.

Notice the setback; Adjust; Repeat.

That is how we keep moving forward.

To stay Strong, Steady and Involved.
